public static Month[] values()

Returns an array containing the constants of this enum type, in the order they are declared. This method may be used to iterate over the constants as follows:

for (Month c : Month.values())
    System.out.println(c);

Returns:

an array containing the constants of this enum type, in the order they are declared

valueOf

public static Month valueOf(String name)

Returns the enum constant of this type with the specified name. The string must match exactly an identifier used to declare an enum constant in this type. (Extraneous whitespace characters are not permitted.)

Parameters:

name - the name of the enum constant to be returned.

Returns:

the enum constant with the specified name

Throws:

IllegalArgumentException - if this enum type has no constant with the specified name

NullPointerException - if the argument is null

number

public int number()

Returns the ISO 8601 number for this month. The number for January is 1, February is 2 etc. up to December at 12.

Returns:

The ISO 8601 number for this month.

toCalendarMonth

public int toCalendarMonth()

Translate to Java Calender constant. For instance, the Month enum constant JANUARY returns the Calendar.JANUARY constant.

Returns:

the java.util.Calendar month constant for this month

fromCalendar

public static Month fromCalendar(Calendar calendar)

Parameters:

calendar - Calendar object to get Month from.

Returns:

The month for of the supplied calendar.

fromNumber

public static Month fromNumber(int number)

Parameters:

number - number of the month.

Returns:

The number:th month of the year, starting with 1 for January.

forStartOfQuarter

public static Month forStartOfQuarter(int quarter)

Returns the starting month of a quarter. Quarter 1 returns January.

Parameters:

quarter - The number of the quarter, 1, 2, 3 or 4.

Returns:

The starting month of the specified quarter.
